The Trojan Women
Euripides
SUMMER TOUR
Euripides’ profoundly human and fundamentally anti-war play is brought to the stage by twenty-two performers of all ages, with and without disabilities – including actors from the En Dynamei Ensemble – accompanied by live on-stage music. At the Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus, the National Theatre of Greece presents The Trojan Women, directed by Eleni Efthymiou, in a production that explores the timeless calamity of armed conflict, loss as a form of collective memory, but most of all, the female body as a universal symbol of human tragedy.
