Eleftherios Veniadis was born in Athens (1977). He studied Music Theory and acting in Athens and worked from 2001 to 2004 as one of the leading actors in “Amphitheatre” with director Spiros A. Evangelatos. He moved to Berlin in 2005 and studied composition (Diploma) at the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK-Berlin) with Professor Daniel Ott. He continued his studies (Masters) in the class of Professor Manos Tsangaris at the “Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber” in Dresden. He has received many scholarships (Union of greek composers, Franz- Grothe , Patera-foundation, NaFöG scholarship of the city of Berlin) and his works have been performed in many festivals of contemporary music (Klangwerkstatt Berlin, Randspiele Zepernick, Megaron Athens, Unerhörte Musik Berlin, NeueTöneOpen Stuttgart, Musik und Raum Lübeck, Biennalle New Talents Cologne). With the dance-theatre-music company “[Zwischen]” he won the 1st “BERLINER OPERNPREIS 12: NEW DEAL“ in June 2012 as part of the international competition of the Neukoellner Opera. He has also worked as a composition teacher for education projects (DSO-Berlin, Querklang Berlin, Quartier Bremen). He lives and works between Greece and Germany.
